My opinion is that the poured mast partner is for the physical chocking of the mast through the deck, and not for water sealing--we have a rubber boot above the mast chocking that we fabricated out of inner tube tire, a couple large hose clamps, and some rubber cement to seal the seam.  If you have confidence that the rubber boot above the mast chocking is sealing against water, then I wouldn&#039;t hesitate to use the spartite (or equivalent).  But my opinion is based on very limited knowledge, so take it for what it&#039;s worth.</description>

Our concern was that corrosion of the aluminum can occur inside the polyurethane partner.  Do you have any input regarding this concern?  We are in the sailmaking, rigging, and canvas business in Annapolis, Md.  When you folks find your way to Annapolis, we would be happy to take care of any of your sail requirements.</description>
